Here is a cute little key fob/wristlet that I made; I hope to be selling them at Christmas craft fairs this year, and am even considering opening an etsy shop.
This is a little fabric bowl that I made today; it will be a Christmas gift, I think, and I may also add these to my list of crafts to sell. Below are some other views:
This is the bowl turned upside down
And this is the bowl atop our dining table
Another project that I am working on is something called the prayer flag project. I discovered this while visiting Jane LaFazio's blog, and I fell in love with the idea instantly. It gives me an opportunity to spread goodness in the world, while finding myself as an artist. So far, I have only completed one flag, but here it is:
The stamp says "life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain," and I believe that this statement rings so true for me, and for many people. I made this flag for my friend Annie, who is moving from Canada back to the US again next week; this is a tough move for her and her family, as they have made many friends here, and they will be very missed. I hope that Annie hangs this flag outside of her new home, and that it reminds her that no matter what life brings, she has support from her friends, who will dance in the rain alongside her...
I have more pictures of things that I have made, and will post them when I can.. In the meantime, I think I will spend a bit of time thinking of more creative things to do, and mentally get ready for some camping with my daughter this weekend. I'm very excited to have a "girls only" trip with her this weekend; we have plans to do some fishing, some crafting, and who knows? Maybe some dancing in the rain...
