I've read time and again, where people apologize for being too busy to blog, and now I totally understand. There are times in life where we choose to focus more on one thing than others, and though the social connection of blogging is a wonderful thing, these days I have been drawn to other priorities.
For one, as you know, I was crazy busy getting my daughter through to the end of another school year; I am happy to say that we made it, hooray!! After the school year was done, we went on a camping trip, and this is where life made another big turn - on my third dating anniversary with my boyfriend, he got down on one knee and actually proposed to me!!
Of course, I said yes, and this is where the mixed feelings come in. I know I will be busy over the next year planning our wedding, and so I am not sure where my art will be heading. With limited time, I don't expect to be doing much quilting. Also, I'm unsure of how much time I can put into encaustics; this does bother me, because I recently started a textile piece, with the intention of incorporating encaustics.
The one thing I do know, however, is that I love having mixed feelings - after all, I am a mixed media artist! One exciting thing about this is that I will be doing a lot of DIY stuff for the wedding - so far, I have made "Save the Date" cards, which I will post AFTER they are in the mail. I intend to do all of the stationary myself, and have incorporated card stock with embossing - I've never done embossing before, and I love it!! Has anyone embossed onto fabric before?? New thought emerging...
Anyway, I won't apologize for being busy with my fam, or being busy with planning the wedding. I will say, however, that although I will try not to get totally drawn away from blogging, don't expect me to be too regular at it.. I think the saying is "patience, young jedi"... lol!
I hope you are all having some mixed feelings of your own; I have a day off coming soon, and will hope to do some catching up with blog buddies - look for some comments from me on your blogs, and in the meantime, happy creating!
