Holy, if only I could describe the crazy "busy-ness" of my world the last few weeks. Here's my advice to any and all with school aged children: if at any time you are asked to volunteer/co-ordinate an event, choose volunteer!! Out of all the parents in my daughter's grade (5), I was the one silly fool to volunteer to co-ordinate fundraising efforts, to help reduce the cost of our kids going off to camp next year, including co-ordinating Sports Day concession. Oh, and yes, let's not forget that this is the first year that I have ever seen Sports Day postponed, which meant that I was there most of the day to deliver hot lunch, and then after school to sell the donuts we had purchased for concession.
What does this really mean? Well, to put it bluntly, I now have one week to co-ordinate another Sports Day for next Friday, June 15th, even though it took me six weeks to co-ordinate for today...UGH!!! That, and I have to do my taxes, AND I will be running off to do the Cancer Society's Relay For Life on June 16th after work (btw, I am only working that day b/c I had to take the 15th off - geeze!!)
What this also means, dear blogosphere friends, is that I haven't had a minute to do anything really, truly creative; at least artistically creative (unless you count organizing 25 families artistic, that is). I am missing playing with my art supplies, and my fabric, and I am missing connecting with those whose blogs I follow... June 17th is my glory day, as it were - it will be the day that I can be free, and play again!! Of course, it will be another deadline oriented task: my goal is to make handmade notebooks with my daughter, as teacher appreciation gifts this year, and I am very excited to see how they turn out!
In the meantime, I hope that you are all living blissfully creative and artistic lives, and I look forward to connecting again soon - stay inspired!!
